![]() I'm considering using OPUS for my laptop and my phone, so I could store more songs, using 96kbps files instead of ~260kbps. However, with my library going more and everyday, I'm starting to think I should move to flac since lossless is great for archiving purpose and I'd have more freedom for transcoding. Until now, I haven't kept flac mostly because I can't tell the difference with well encoded MP3 and because I was lacking storage, especially on my laptops/phones. Tag wise: (I try to keep my tags simple and relevant all tags are in idv3 2.3 for compatibility purposes)Īnyway, my thread isn't about showing off or anything, my point is that I have already spent hundreds of hours in building this collection and I don't want to give up everything. To show you how I organize my music, see the below examples:įile wise: (all my music is classified in genre/subgenre/albumartist/year - album/track - title and there's also a cover.jpg file in each folder). When I can, I transcode from flac to mp3 myself with LameXP to guarantee good transcoding options (v0, best quality). Most of them are either v0 or 320kbps, I have a fair amount of AAC as well. I've discovered this subreddit very recently and I'm glad to find out there are many people passionate about their music collection, just like me.īasically, my music is already very well organized, both file wise and tags wise.
